A Week After Opposing DeSantis' Parental Rights in Education Bill, Disney Finds Itself in a Trafficking Scandal
Four Disney employees—three working in the amusement park–were arrested in a large human trafficking sting.

Parental Rights in Education: We covered the dubbed “Don’t Say Gay” bill in detail here. It is relatively tame: It limits teaching students in kindergarten to third grade about sexual orientation and gender identity.
More Americans support the bill than oppose it by a 16-point margin. For most, it’s a no-brainer.
The backlash: Corporations and CEOs publicly denounced the bill, most notably Disney CEO Bob Chapek. Some Disney employees also planned a corporate walkout for Chapek’s failing to oppose the bill sufficiently.
Gov. Ron DeSantis’s team and other conservatives have labeled those opposing the bill as “groomers.” On a basic level, the bill is anti-grooming legislation.
The human trafficking sting: A week after Chapek’s statements, authorities arrested 108 people, including child sexual predators and those seeking prostitutes, in a Florida operation. Four Disney employees—three working in the amusement park and one in its IT department–were included.
