WHAT WE'RE WATCHING

🏙 Donald Trump is planning campaign events in major blue cities. The former president wants to make appearances in Democratic strongholds across the country and is even expected to hold a campaign event in NYC’s Madison Square Garden. The Trump campaign is showcasing its ambitions to win over racial minorities and disaffected Democrats as President Biden suffers historically low approval ratings.

💪 Most Americans want strong illegal migration policies. A recent poll discovered that a majority of Americans support the mass deportation of illegal migrants, including 42 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of Latinos. With the border crisis already looming large in voters’ minds, candidates taking tougher stances on migration may stand to benefit in the upcoming elections

🌊 Mitch Connell is downplaying expectations of a red wave. House Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is cautioning Republicans from having high expectations in the 2024 elections, hoping to win just one or two seats for a majority. McConnell highlighted the importance of candidate quality, which he believes hampered the GOP in 2022 and may again in 2024.

🎙 President Biden is willing to debate Donald Trump. With a recent radio appearance on Howard Stern, the president now says he is “happy to debate” Donald Trump. Salivating at the prospect of a debate, Trump responded, “Everyone knows he doesn’t really mean it, but in case he does, I say, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE.”
