Accomplishments for HBCUS
President Trump has appropriated more money than any other President to HBCUs. President Trump signed the Future Act into law. The law permanently funds HBCUs, Tribal Colleges & Universities, Minority Serving Institutions, and Hispanic Serving Colleges. Trump made HBCUs a priority by creating the position of Executive Director of the White House Initiative of HBCUs.

Prison Reform
Donald Trump signed the First Step Act which included significant reforms that helped injustices against black Americans. Over 90% of those benefitting from the retroactive sentencing reductions in the First Step Act are black Americans. The First Step Act provides rehabilitative programs to inmates, helping them successfully rejoin society and not return to crime. The act, so far, has released over 3,100 inmates. Under Trump, the imprisonment rate of African American residents was the lowest since 1980.

Economic Initiatives for Black Americans
Trump has launched 8,762 opportunity zones which are all aimed at attracting business and investment in low-income majority black American communities. Under Trump, the black-American poverty rate was the lowest ever on record, since the official count began in the 1960s. Unemployment rates among black Americans, Hispanics, and Asians were all at historic lows. Wage gains for non-whites were substantially higher than those of whites and higher than economists' estimates of inflation plus productivity. That implies that minority workers are getting a greater share of GDP.

Civil Rights Leaders Agree
Lifelong Democrat and Civil Rights attorney, Leo Terrell, said that he thinks President Donald Trump has done more in three years for the black community than the Obama-Bien administration accomplished in eight. Civil Rights activist Clarence Henderson, born on the wrong side of the tracks, a victim of racism in the Jim Crow era, supports Donald Trump. Mayor Charles Evers, brother of slain Civil Rights icon Medgar Evers has said "I love Donald". He especially liked Trump's demeanor, having the following to say:
I like his "plain way of speaking and I liked what he had to say. He's a business man, not a politician, and we agreed that if you create jobs, you are helping people of all colors"

Polls Reflect Trump's Actions
An Emerson poll released recently found that 19% of black voters will vote for the President in the upcoming 2020 election. A Democracy Institute/Sunday Express Poll released recently found the level of black support for the President at 19%. A Zogby poll released the same time as the Emerson poll showed 20% of black voters intended to vote for Trump instead of Biden. These numbers are groundbreaking for a Republican candidate.
